Rappeling in Sedom mountain
Hello again,
This time will travel south towards the Dead Sea. Millions of years ago the pressure that made the Dead Sea was formed a little mountain made of salt rock southwest to the Dead Sea.
This little mountain is like a Swiss cheese - plenty of caves and holes all made of salty rock. For you the adventures visitor it's a great opportunity to enjoy cave rappelling, cave crawling and a whole hour inside the mountain ! The cave itself contains stalagmites and stalactites all made of salt rock. Well, enough talking just hit the link to enjoy !

Purim in Israel is like the Haloween - children and adults wear costumes and parties are held all over. See what happens when Gargamel comes back to Modi'in to chase the Smurfs during the traditional Purim parade !

Gush Etzion stratigically located on route Hebron to Jerusalem consisted of 4 Kibbutzim prior to the declaration of the state of Israel.
On November 29th 1947 the former U.N majority of 33 against 13 votes decided on the division of mandatory Palestine to two states - Jewish & Arab. At the same night Arab gangs began attacking the Jewish transportation and remote settelments. During the coming months the situation in Gush Etzion became very bad - the settelments were on ciege with limited ammunition and personnel and desperate request for backup came from their commander - Uzi Narkis. On January 15th 1948, at 11 PM the Lamed - He (35 in Hebrew) led by commander Danny Mas left Har-Tov (not far from nowhere daus Beit Shemesh) located west to Gush Etzion this was the closest point to the Gush at a distance of around 25 Km (around 19 Miles) the group was planned to arrive to the Gush between 2:00 - 3:00 AM. On their way to Gush Etzion they were discovered by two Arab old ladies near the village of Tzurif. There are many reports of what happened, however, all 35 died after batteling thousands of Arabs who surrounded them all day long until their death on a hill named - "The battle hill".
On the night of February 2nd a very rainy and muddy night we went on the same route of the Lamed He.
On this photo you can see how muddy it is...
